Igor Tudor is under increased pressure after Tottenham’s 5-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Spurs endured a nightmare start in the first leg of their last-16 tie away to Atletico as they found themselves three goals down in the opening 15 minutes.

Goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky was at fault for two of Atletico’s goals and was replaced by Guglielmo Vicario after just 17 minutes.

Atletico then added a fourth before Pedro Porro pulled a goal back for Spurs in the 26th minute. Julian Alvarez restored Atletico’s four-goal advantage in the second half before Dominic Solanke capitalised on another goalkeeping error from Jan Oblak to give Spurs a glimmer of hope for next week’s return leg in north London.

The result means Tudor has now lost all four of his games in charge since replacing Thomas Frank as manager last month.

Spurs now need a miracle at home in the second leg next Wednesday to reach the Champions League quarter-final, while in the Premier League, they sit just a point above the relegation zone.

A section of Tottenham supporters had called on Tudor to be sacked after the defeat to Palace, and speaking at half-time against Atletico, former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara called on the club to dismiss the Croatian immediately.

‘I’m absolutely embarrassed to be a Spurs fan,’ O’Hara told talkSPORT.

‘I’m embarrassed to be affiliated to this football club. It is nothing short of a disgrace. The manager is a fraud. The manager needs to go. It should sack him at half time.

‘It’s a disgraceful performance from the players. The tactics are unthinkable. To set up 3-4-3 against Atletico Madrid is embarrassing. We cannot play that formation. He said it’s about experimenting, you cannot experiment in the Champions League playing 343 and to pick Kinsky.’

Mauricio Pochettino, who watched Spurs’ defeat to Atletico at the Metropolitano Stadium on Tuesday night, is the current favourite with bookmakers BetVictor to replace Tudor as manager at 3/1.

Roberto De Zerbi, who is available after leaving Marseille last month, is joint-second favourite at 4/1 alongside former Spurs striker Robbie Keane, who is currently managing Hungarian side Ferencvaros.

Sean Dyche, who is also available after he was sacked by Nottingham Forest in February is 11/2 to become Spurs’ next manager, while Ryan Mason, who was sacked by West Brom in January, is 10/1 for a return to the Spurs dugout.
