West Ham are waiting to find out the full extent of Crysencio Summerville’s calf injury ahead of their Premier League match against Manchester City this Saturday.
The 24-year-old has been in excellent form for West Ham in recent weeks with seven goals in his last 11 appearances.
Summerville was brought on as a half-time substitute against Brentford in the FA Cup fifth round on Monday night as West Ham won on penalties.
The Dutch winger was forced off during extra time after suffering a knock to his calf but after receiving treatment he was able to finish the game, although he did not take a penalty in the shootout.
West Ham now face an anxious wait for the results of Summerville’s scan ahead of their game against City this weekend but the club are concerned he could be sidelined until after the upcoming international break.
When asked about Summerville’s injury after West Ham’s shootout victory, Nuno Espirito Santo said: ‘Let’s assess him. He felt a knock.

‘I don’t know exactly what he has. It is concerning but hopefully we recover with this moment of joy. We’ll get better, we’ll be faster and we will be able to compete against City.
‘Enjoy for a couple of hours and then refocus, recover well and respect your body. It was a big effort from a lot of the players. Then we have to go again.’
